The all-new 2023 Ariens Ikon is a gas-powered lawn mower designed and manufactured by Ariens Company in Brillion, Wisconsin from the ground up to deliver maximum comfort, usability and style while maintaining a lawn. Rather than focusing solely on mowing a lawn, Ariens Co. Industrial design team benchmarked high end automotive design and powersports industry to design the Ikon to deliver comfort and styling beyond the baseline expectation from the lawn and garden industry.
The design vision for the Ikon was to create a lawnmower that looks durable, rigid, comfortable, and styled to stand out. The vision was actualized by uniting Ariens company’s mastery of metal bending process with masterfully integrated and custom designed plastic parts and seat. All the structural metal parts are designed and exposed to create a durable machine masterfully joined together to be a piece of art.
The frame is designed to be the main visual element that sets the stance and presence of the machine. Unlike traditionally straight lawnmower frames, the Ikon frame is raked in a dynamic angle. The raked angle gives the mower a fast and dynamic look. The frames are also bent from the top view, adding extra width and wide presence while giving the machine operator extra room for foot comfort.
Every detail on the seat is applied to enhance comfort while demonstrating a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The deep, curvy bolsters add comfort and help to stabilize the machine operator when maneuvering the mower on hills or sloped terrains. Every stitch line is designed to align with the design theme of the machine.
The grips are designed for comfort while embodying the design theme of the Ikon. The hand grips are mounted on a control arm that is engineered to be rigid while integrating adjustability features that allow machine operator to adjust the height and angle of the arm. A sidestep is integrated into the machine to make ingress and egress easy.
The headlights give the Ikon an unmistakable, serious face while increasing visibility during dark mowing conditions. The headlights are encapsulated within the wrapping metal structure on the front containing multiple bends inspired by origami- a fusion of art and engineering.
Overall, the Ariens Ikon is a distinct lawnmower in a class of its own. The new design delivers an ultimate mowing experience with presence that customers are proud to be seen on.
