Ailis is a pioneering diagnostic device with an entire system for the early detection of breast cancer, which has no equivalent in the medical market. A breakthrough technology designed to recognise the first signs of breast cancer, which was created through the collaboration of nearly 100 experts from various fields (doctors, scientists, programmers, AI or design specialists).
It combines advanced and proprietary parametric dynamic imaging technology, AI and telemedicine. But it’s not just technological innovation – AILIS is also distinguished by a unique approach to design that puts the user at the centre of the experience. It does not resemble traditional medical equipment – it is a futuristic device inspired by the space industry, designed with attention to every detail, from A to Z.
The friendly shape and modernity are designed to reduce the anxiety and stress associated with the examination. This unique form makes the user feel safer, more comfortable and settled.
AILIS is a device designed to appeal to multiple senses – it uses sound, movement and light to create an atmosphere of relaxation and intimacy. The entire examination is non-contact – there is no compression or pressure on the breast, eliminating the pain and discomfort known from traditional mammography. The device adjusts its position and parameters to the user, automatically adjusting the seat and head rest.
These elements are the result of analysing more than 20 anthropometric sources to create a comfort solution for women from all over the world, of varying height and body shape.
The ergonomic chair is one of the key design elements of AILIS. It is movable and adjusts automatically to the patient’s body, providing a comfortable and stable position during the examination. Also innovative is the specially designed headrest – unprecedented in the medical industry – which provides both comfort and stability, which is crucial for precise scanning. The device is equipped with a semi-automatic dome that closes partially during the examination, providing the patient with a sense of privacy – especially important in cultures where intimacy is strongly ingrained.
AILIS’ design also takes environmental concerns into account. The device was designed with a long life cycle in mind – with the ability to be repaired, upgraded and recycled. Some components of the housing are made of biodegradable materials, which is in line with modern standards of responsible design.
AILIS is a system that is redefining the way women experience breast diagnostics. With its thoughtful design, comfort and wellness-like atmosphere, the examination ceases to be an unpleasant chore and becomes a self-care experience.
The built-in digital assistant and integration with the mobile app give users a sense of control, while the user-friendly aesthetics and interface remove barriers to anxiety. The psychological impact of medical aesthetics is often overlooked, and it is form, colours, sounds and movement that have a real impact on how women perceive the diagnostic experience. At AILIS, we prioritised this aspect.
The gentle movements of the machine, ambient music, and warm light are all elements that build a coherent and thoughtful system of user-centred care. AILIS is an example of modern design in healthcare – design that not only looks good, but above all responds to the needs, emotions and limitations of female users. In a world where medical technologies increasingly meet the user outside the hospital walls, this approach is becoming a necessity. AILIS shows that the future of healthcare can not only be smart and effective, but also beautiful, empathetic and accessible.
AILIS is an exemplary example of a design that combines breakthrough technology, exceptional attention to user experience, ergonomics, innovative aesthetics and concern for the environment. It is a device that is realistically changing standards in medicine and deserves the highest accolades in industrial design.
