Bulletpoint Mounting Solutions embarked on a mission to create a differentiated product that would stand out in a sea of generic ball mounts. The designers reimagined the ball mount by placing the functional aspects atop a uniquely designed ball base, making it aesthetically pleasing while maintaining critical functionality.
Through a virtual design session in April 2022, the Bulletpoint team explored numerous designs, considering functionality, cost-effectiveness, and mass production feasibility. Our manufacturing partner was also involved in the process to ensure the item could be manufactured to our performance requirements.
The paramount requirement was CNC machinability, necessitating a horizontally milled design. After careful deliberation and virtual prototyping, the design team arrived at the final patent-pending design. They then quickly transitioned their entire product line and achieved their goal of full adoption by the end of 2022.
The new ball mount design has been met with enthusiasm by customers, leading to a remarkable increase in sales on Bulletpoint’s website and Amazon storefront. The design has also allowed their marketing team to promote their unique patent-pending design. The redesign has not only enhanced the visual appeal of Bulletpoint’s product line, but it has also allowed it to stand out in a competitive market.
