The black matte trend has a strong relationship with the Ruhr region in Germany, which has a rich history in coal mining and steel production. The region was known as the “Black Heart of Germany” due to the extensive coal mines that left everything covered in a layer of black dust.

This industrial heritage has influenced the design and aesthetics of many products in the region, with the use of black matte finishes being a signal of this history. The finish adds a sense of power and strength to the cars, reminiscent of the industrial machinery that was once the hallmark of the region.

The use of black matte finishes also conveys a sense of toughness and durability, which is important in a region that is known for its hardworking and resilient people.
