DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel is the world’s first wireless professional color grading control surface. Designed in collaboration with the world’s leading colorists and just $495 it can be used anywhere, empowering users with the same technology used on Oscar-winning blockbusters like Oppenheimer, Poor Things and Godzilla Minus One.
Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ now host audiences in excess of 200 million worldwide, and continue to drive expansion of cinematic experiences out of movie theatres and into the comfort and convenience of living rooms and mobile devices.
To keep pace with this growing demand for content, filmmakers and TV producers face increasingly aggressive deadlines. Traditional production methods, where shooting, editing, color grading and audio mixing occur in sequential order, are now too slow and outdated.
The ultra-compact DaVinci Resolve Color Panel untethers Hollywood color grading from the fixed studio setting. Linked to an iPad via Bluetooth and powered by internal battery, users have dynamic, direct control over multiple parameters simultaneously, allowing them to work faster in the most challenging situations.
Angled for comfortable ergonomics the slim, tapered form is designed for efficiency and portability. Low profile controls allow it to slip easily into a laptop bag and a smooth, rounded underside offers comfortable use on a lap in confined spaces like planes. The iPad slot is tuned for stability; a flared central area provides clearance for swipe gestures.
Via Blackmagic Cloud, proxy files from Blackmagic cameras can be edited and graded the instant they are captured. Artistic decisions can now be made immediately on set, informing subsequent shots for a more collaborative, non-linear creative process and optimal production efficiency.
With a material formulation that enhances sensor fidelity and a 40mm diameter balancing performance and portability, each trackball assembly is meticulously tuned for smooth operation and optimal inertia for both fine and dramatic changes. Lit by Infra-Red Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser, a nanoparticle surface coating allows the IR sensor to read motion up to 762mm per second, for ultra-fine adjustments.
Ergonomically shaped for single-handed use, each ring has a bespoke, helical surface pattern for refined fingertip control and a short vertical surface for thumb traction. Dampened stainless steel ball bearings offer smooth movement.
