PENSA was challenged to create an entirely new brand for Cintas, one built on elegant, high-quality product experiences and suited for the high-traffic hospitality industry.
The solution steps away from the standard industrial look that outfits most commercial bathrooms, and focuses on welcoming, warm and natural finishes while also improving product features and serviceability.
Creating and maintaining a modern, home-like environment that can be serviced in a high-traffic commercial setting takes an understanding of the needs of the organizational stakeholders and customers. The collection’s design communicates a natural, gentle, and premium look and feel. Each element of the product line, including soap and lotion bottles, towel dispensers, facial tissue dispensers, toilet paper roll dispensers and caddy, air freshener, and trash bin, has been crafted to convey a sense of luxury and elegance that is often missing in commercial restroom environments. They are engineered to be durable and long-lasting so that they can withstand high traffic use and hospitality customers will not need to replace them – ensuring cost savings for Cintas’ customers while also reducing environmental impact.
At the same time, we strove to design the product line to be incredibly easy to install, service, and refill, along with different configurations suitable for a variety of venue needs. Through accompanying service route rides, we gleaned unique insights into customer and venue needs, as well as the challenges faced by service representatives with busy schedules. Our resulting design solution allows Cintas service professionals to adeptly refill multiple bathrooms’ towel and soap dispensers in a matter of minutes, preventing product shortages. In addition, the design allows janitorial staff to easily self-service, minimizing the need for frequent service calls.
Finally, a successful product line’s primary factor is its ease of sale. The implementation of the brand and design style guide greatly enhanced the Cintas sales team’s ability to communicate Branch & Vine’s value proposition to a wider audience. Consistency in messaging and visual elements ensured effective communication, attracting new customers who were previously uninterested. The success of our pilot test for Branch & Vine was remarkable, leading to a nationwide launch within a year. This achievement is a testament to the design’s success in resonating with customers, resulting in increased sales and revenue.
The Branch & Vine product line makes it easier for hospitality businesses to maintain a welcoming, comforting, clean, and hygienic restroom for their customers without any added hassle or expense.
