Lightec Inc. turned to Guido Venturini, a world-renowned designer, for the design of a new electronic lighter of the highest quality dedicated specifically to lighting single- or multi-stick candles.
Candle Wand is a modern magic wand with an electro-coloured aluminum body, an elegant and sinuous shape that stands on its own with a firm, soft grip. Ignition is simple and intuitive yet safe. Candle Wand is the lighter for display, not for hiding in a drawer.
The aluminum body is elegant and flexible. The curved form has been carefully thought out to fit comfortably in your hand. The body colour, inspired by the colorus of plants, has a slightly glossy texture and shines subtly when illuminated by flickering candle flames.
Since it stands on its own, you can enjoy decorating it as an interior decoration. In addition, it can be used repeatedly by USB charging, so it does not become waste. Since there is no flame, it can be used safely without being affected by wind.
As the first Munchkin product from RD8 (the company’s hub for creativity and experimentation, driving new products and technologies), Flow represents the launch of a new category – the first in Munchkin’s over 30-year history. Moms have been breastfeeding their babies the same way for hundreds of years but never had visual confirmation that their babies are getting milk – unless they are pumping. Flow provides the visual confirmation so many moms want, boosting confidence and extending the breastfeeding journey for moms.
The clinical data is transformative: flow has proven to be a powerful support tool for breastfeeding mothers, with 92% of users meeting or exceeding their breastfeeding goals. Notably, 98% of Flow users continued breastfeeding at three months postpartum, and 93.5% were still breastfeeding at six months—significantly surpassing the CDC’s national average of 59.8% at the same stage. Additionally, 77% of users reported feeling more confident during their first month of breastfeeding when using Flow, highlighting its impact not only on breastfeeding duration but also on maternal confidence and overall experience.
Data is from an ongoing double-blind study by professional clinical research organisation Emmes. The study includes 301 participants across the U.S. with demographics representative of U.S. birth giving mothers (per CDC).
Munchkin is also donating up to 50,000 Flow units to WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants & Children) chapters throughout the U.S.; a division of the USDA’s Food & Nutrition Services that provides breastfeeding support, touching more than 43% of births in the U.S.
