Guided by public transport, TOD project has lots of mixed functions such as commerce, office, residence, rail transit, etc., becomes an indispensable urban unit in contemporary life. The project is located in the TOD plan of Changgongyan, Tianfu New District, Chengdu.
Since this project is an important spatial node for the distribution of multiple public transport flows, a public space that is both symbolic and allows the fast-moving people to stay is the starting reason of the project.
The designer integrates inspiration which transformed from the dancing ribbon into the space design, not only makes it as a link between the upper and lower relationships as a metaphor of the city’s rhythm and vitality.
The “ribbon” starts from the ground plane and surrounds the interior of the building, creating a sense of volume and line inside. It guides visitors to visit the internal space, and at the same time ingeniously resolves the traditional, static, box-like space display form. For the surrounding group of people, the public space is the link that connects the surrounding group lives.
Centered on social interaction, the space can meet diverse use needs, or leisure communication, or immerse in the world of reading alone, or the ladder square of cultural salon activities, which can accommodate diverse needs. People stay, communicate, and gather here.
