In a world obsessed with the ultra-specific, we ask: What if design embraced everything?
Everything Series One is the inaugural release from Malmö-based SKEWED’s ongoing exploration into adaptable, sustainable design. The series challenges conventional norms by focusing on objects that are versatile, durable, and considerate — of both people and planet.
At the heart of Everything is a simple principle: design should not dictate use. Instead, it should invite interpretation. A table might serve as a bench, a plinth, or a workspace — depending on where it is placed and who is using it. These are open-ended objects designed to accommodate the unpredictability of real life.
The table’s design is remarkable in its simplicity. Each piece is made from just three CNC-milled wooden components — two legs and a table top — secured with four screws.
All dimensions are based on a consistent 45mm measurement, derived from sanding standard 52mm planks. This approach minimises waste, streamlines production, and ensures visual coherence across the series.
CNC milling allows for high precision and a snug, mechanical fit between table top and legs. The resulting structure is strong enough to sit or stand on — with no glue, no hidden fixings, and no excess.
The legs are crafted from Swedish ash, chosen for its strength and longevity. Table top options are offered in either ash or MDF, giving users flexibility in both material expression and cost.
Production is carried out in partnership with Wigells, a sixth-generation woodworking company based in Småland, Sweden. Their longstanding expertise supports a manufacturing process that respects both traditional craftsmanship and modern efficiency.
Key sustainability features include the use of local, responsibly sourced materials, a minimalist construction that reduces overall material use, a flat-pack design that minimises the shipping footprint, and easy disassembly for recycling or repurposing. This is sustainability not as afterthought, but as design logic — built into every decision.
Everything Series One is designed to be context-agnostic. Its quiet form and compact proportions allow it to function across a wide range of settings — from homes and studios to galleries and public spaces. Its strength lies not in novelty, but in openness. Rather than assume how it will be used, the object creates space for users to define that themselves — shifting between uses and evolving with time.
Everything Series One represents a shift towards design that is inclusive, adaptable, and materially responsible. Its simplicity is not reductive, but enabling — allowing one object to serve many roles, for many people.
By placing emphasis on clarity, sustainability, and user engagement, the series offers a modest but timely provocation: that good design need not be complex to be generous.
