The Ferrari Roma Spider embodies a blend of high-performance capabilities and timeless elegance, evoking the spirit of Italy in the 1950s and 60s, known for its chic and pleasure-seeking lifestyle. It maintains the proportions, volumes, and specifications of the Ferrari Roma’s successful V8 2+ concept, but introduces a soft top, a feature returning to the Prancing Horse range on a front-engined car after 54 years.
The soft top, available in various tailored options, provides acoustic comfort comparable to retractable hard tops. It can be opened in just 13.5 seconds at speeds up to 60 km/h. A patented wind deflector integrated into the rear seat backrest ensures comfort during top-down driving. With a 620cv twin-turbo V8 and vehicle dynamics systems from the Ferrari Roma, the Roma Spider offers an unparalleled combination of elegance, performance, driving excitement, and onboard comfort.
Retaining the excellent dynamic characteristics of the Ferrari Roma, the Spider achieves a best-in-class weight/power ratio due to its soft top, all-aluminium chassis, and 620 cv V8 engine. The engine is paired with Ferrari’s acclaimed 8-speed DCT transmission, known for its rapid shift times and high comfort standards.
The Roma Spider delivers not only ease of driving but also dynamic responsiveness, making it an ideal companion for both leisurely weekend getaways and extended journeys. And, of course, all of this is accompanied by the exhilarating sound of the Ferrari V8 engine.
Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre led by Flavio Manzoni, the Roma Spider extends the concept of “La Nuova Dolce Vita” beyond city limits, offering elegant, carefree open-air driving. The sophisticated fabric soft top enhances the proportions of the coupé, maintaining its flowing silhouette. The rear screen is modified to incorporate the soft top, allowing it to fold beneath the tonneau cover when open.
The exterior design focuses on clean lines and a seamless integration of elements. The long front bonnet and sleek flanks contribute to a sense of sleekness, while the front of the car exudes a sculpted, sharknose effect. The grille concept is reimagined with perforated surfaces for efficient engine cooling. Linear full-LED headlights and a horizontal DRL strip provide distinctive character to the front.
The rear of the car features a modern interpretation of the signature Ferrari tail, with a compact aerodynamic diffuser and integrated exhaust tailpipes. The soft-top design offers extensive personalization options, including bespoke fabrics and contrasting stitching.
Inside, the cabin is designed with two separate spaces for the driver and passenger, evolving the dual cockpit concept. This layout creates a more organic distribution of spaces and functional elements, ensuring the passenger feels intimately connected to the driving experience. The cabin’s forms are carefully crafted for a sculptural volume with a sense of continuity between elements.
Technological features are derived from the Ferrari Roma, including an integrated digital instrument cluster and an optional display for the passenger to share driving information. An 8.4” central display manages infotainment and climate control functions, floating between the dashboard and tunnel.
