Completed in 1996, this high-rise old building has been undergoing interior renovations (L2-12, 18) from 2021 to 2023. Our lighting strategy unfolds through 3 main themes. “Adaption”: Renovating older structures, particularly those built decades ago, poses challenges in meeting modern design standards. It’s crucial not to view the renovation superficially. From a lighting standpoint, we analyzed interior lighting data, maintenance operations, green energy, electrical systems, and smart controls in line with the latest specifications.
Collaborating with architects and aligning with HSBC’s global headquarters design guidelines, we’ve crafted a comprehensive lighting improvement plan. This ensures meeting domestic headquarters’ lighting needs while adhering to the office infrastructure design standards of a multinational corporation. “Sustainability”: Bank headquarters’ office lighting fulfills its basic function, providing comfort and energy efficiency.
We aim for harmony between artificial and natural light, prioritizing adaptability over rigid rules. Lighting needs in bank offices differ, and drawing from our experience with HSBC, we use simulation software and consider color/material schemes for a customized, sustainable approach.
“Moderation”: For an enterprise with a century of history, the oversight of its real estate assets is particularly crucial. In collaboration with the BIM team from another consultancy firm, we provided lighting support for digital assets for the infrastructure department. Our efforts involved not only optimizing the office lighting segment of the Building Management System (BMS) but also ensuring that the readily available lighting data empowers the operations department in handling their plaza management responsibilities.
