Good design does more than just please the eye—it can inspire and motivate us or challenge our perspectives. In a 2020 national study conducted by Aspen Project Play, it was found that the average child today spends less than three years playing a sport and quits by age 11, most often because the sport just isn’t fun anymore. Through its Fuel Tomorrow initiative, Gatorade is helping to change this by celebrating some of the youngest roster athletes who personify the joy of sport and are inspiring the next generation to play: basketball player Paige Bueckers, football player Trevor Lawrence, and hurdler and sprinter Sydney McLaughlin. All under the age of 24 at the time of collaboration, these three athletes are already widely respected in their sport, and their potential to impact the future of the game is limitless.
Gatorade knows athletes’ lives don’t begin and end on the playing field, and the brand’s Gx bottle provides them with a blank canvas to express themselves. The vision of Gatorade for athlete Gx collaborations is to elevate their voices, spotlighting their stories and experiences beyond the field of play. Providing athletes with the ability to tell their stories in such a compelling way is a unique experience only Gatorade can offer.
The Gx Fuel Tomorrow Collection – Summer Edition marks the first time Gatorade has collaborated with four athletes at the same time to create a compelling and cohesive collection of Gx bottle designs. Gatorade selected these specific athletes as the next generation of talent to help impact the future of sports for all.
