The HART 20V Pruning Saw is tailored for precise trimming of small limbs and branches. Designed with a compact, lightweight architecture, this saw assures accuracy without compromising maneuverability. Its oil-free operation means no messy maintenance, while the tool-less chain tensioning allows for quick and easy adjustments. This saw is compatible with all HART 20V batteries, offering both versatility and convenience for uninterrupted power.
To reduce weight, increase compactness, and improve containerization, designers questioned the initial technical package and cutting requirements. Collaborative bench testing, hands-on home use, frequent regulatory discussions, and constant engineering engagement confirmed that by limiting chain speed to 5m/s, the internal oiler could be eliminated without sacrificing desired performance. Research discovered that users placed saws on their side to protect the chain, resulting in more body fatigue due to additional bending.
The angled, parallel motor/battery silhouette 1) prevents the chain from contacting the ground, resulting in better performance, and longer cutting life, 2) reduces user reach while bending over to pick-up the tool, 3) eliminates wrist/battery interference and promotes an extended reach, 4) enhances visibility of the battery fuel gauge, and 5) improves battery release latch access.
Given the potential one-handedness of the tool, considerable effort was made to optimize handle ergonomics. Design refinements included motor head angle, trigger and associated internal switch position, regulatory finger clearances, battery button release access, min/max sizes for the existing batteries, overmold location, and user hand/wrist comfort during operation.
The HART brand combines high performance with relevant innovation, empowering users, and awarding DIY pride. HART outdoor products support the idea that anyone is capable of performing a variety of tasks, and don’t need to rely on paid specialists. Through new product innovation, HART is working to equip users with the right tools to help cultivate a vision of home. Pushing performance and convenience, HART tools are built on technologies that provide homeowners peace of mind that extends into their community and the environment.
