The HP Ergonomic Wireless Vertical Mouse is EPEAT Gold certified and contributes to HP’s World’s Most Sustainable PC Portfolio. It is designed for the ultimate in productivity, proven through human factors studies. HP is committed to making peripherals that are both sustainable and are measurably better to use.
The HP Ergonomic Wireless Mouse provides the user with value through tested and proven ergonomic benefits. It’s one thing to say a mouse is more ergonomic, and another to test it and pass certifications in ergonomics.
The mouse has a unique wrist-rest that moves with the mouse. It attaches via magnets, making it easy to attach or remove, and uses Bio TPU to prevent allergic reactions. Bio TPU is ethically sourced.
Multichannel: the mouse can control multiple devices and switch between them. Because it does this, it’s easy to use for all the user’s pointing device activity.
The right amount of click: The click force has been carefully tested to prevent accidental clicks, and strike a balance between intentional and accidental clicks. Unintentional clicks don’t register, intentional ones happen immediately.
Sensor arrangement: The sensor for the pointing device is offset in the angle to match the direction that feels ‘straight ahead’ to the user. This way, the hand stays in a neutral position. Sensor placement was dictated by how the hand rests on the mouse, and how the hand interacts with the mouse and table while in motion.
Sustainable: more than 50% recycled plastics used in the product, and plastic-free packaging make this our most sustainable mouse yet.
Recycled resins, bio tpu (a first for HP – used in the wrist rest/palm rest of the mouse)
All fiber packaging
A chipset that is not power hungry to lower carbon footprint, and longer lasting battery cycles before capacity diminishes – what used to last one week may last years into the lifecycle of the product.
We intentionally design around making products last as long as possible. Longer lived products reduce premature waste.
Comfort product: this is HP’s first ergonomic mouse designed specifically to improve comfort. HP Design specifically catered to people with heavy mousing activity – CAD users, fine arts, people, RSI related complications (wrist, arm, shoulder). The wristrest design complements the mouse. It is easy for the user to deploy or remove if they need more space, and uses magnets at specific positions to attach to the mouse.
Side buttons within reach: Typical mice side buttons are L and R, arranged in a forward and back placement. This mouse stacks them vertically for people with different hand sizes to reach within the arc of their thumb, making it more comfortable to click.
A first for this type of device: The thumb button is right under the user’s thumb, a first for this category of pointing device.
Wellness: The correct wrist position, alignment, and force required to push the mouse on the table are all designed to prevent injury or repetitive strain.
Designed around humans: The design goals and aesthetic are dictated by the shape of the human hand, and accommodating hands of different sizes. HP designed the mouse to not just fit the hand, but look like it fits the hand.
The design was vetted by human factors research, to be more comfortable compared to compact or full size mouse. Functionally, having the wrist in a more neutral position reduces stress and pressure on nerves and carpal tunnel.
Innovation:
This new design helps HP enter into wellness and we’re learning and leveraging from this product. This is not a mass volume product. It helps HP raise awareness that HP mice are not just compact, but serious peripherals and raises credibility of the whole mice portfolio.
HP isn’t just screen ergonomics, notebook ergonomics, it’s also where your hands are, and requires us to give equal attention to input devices.
