HyperScint-Dosimeter for radiation. In radiation oncology, radiation therapy is a treatment administered at a uniform dose to eliminate a tumor while sparing healthy tissue. A dosimeter measures the radiation dose to help the healthcare professional optimize the treatment.
This device is the second generation of dosimeter for the Medscint company, the family spirit of the previous generation had to be respected in the design. The dosimeter is equipped with a carefully integrated ergonomic handle and quick access to the various connectors, which is essential in a hospital environment. Its playful appearance dedramatizes its functionality.
The design challenge of the Hyperscint lies in the fact that the device is manufactured in short series and its architecture must be modular and adaptable in order to allow flexibility in the integration of future technologies, particularly in its internal lens array. Its active thermal management system has been greatly improved. The objective is to minimize the investment costs in various tools, the housing of the device is completely made of CNC-machined aluminum. This process gives it its strength and lightness while its anodic finish ensures its durability. The other components that make up the device are made of 3D-printed silicone and polyurethane.
