While those containers hold roughly the same volume of product, each is slightly different.
Though interest in reusable packaging has been growing over the years, there have been challenges to scaling reuse systems. Collection methods are costly if you look to collect, clean and reuse CPG packaging containers as they exist today because current CPG packaging designs are linear. They focus on delivering the product safely to the shelf for easy, cost-effective consumption.
So how do we enable reusable packaging in such an environment so that it can scale in a cost-effective manner and also preserve the need for the packaging to deliver an exceptional customer experience of its brand? How can we create a solution that costs less to return than it does to ship new product to the store?

The Jarbot™ system is comprised of 7 SKUs, designed to mix, match, and nest to create a scalable, reusable packaging system. These SKUs can be shared amongst brands to help fuel the circular life cycle of the product’s packaging. Customized PET shrink sleeves protect the reusable packaging & contents for one use cycle, then they are removed and recycled during the cleaning step in the closed loop.
The average number of items contained in a supermarket is 31,150. That is 31,150 individual SKU numbers that mostly require their own individual packaging design. In a world moving toward reusable design, that number makes it almost impossible to scale reusable packaging programs. Jarbot™ is a reusable packaging system designed to fix that.
