The K-O2 multi-patient oxygen generator and delivery system provide uninterrupted therapy for up to 10 individuals at a time, even in harsh conditions such as dusty, humid environments or areas that experience large fluctuations in temperature or power instability. Lack of access to oxygen during medical emergencies impacts more than half a million people in low- and middle-income countries every day (WHO, technical consultation on oxygen scale-up). Like other medical equipment, conventional oxygen concentrators are not robust enough to withstand harsh environmental settings. The K-O2 is a robust and flexible solution, which supplies safe, high-quality oxygen in these suboptimal scenarios to address oxygen insecurity across all levels of the health system.
KEY FEATURES & BENEFITS
Multi-Patient Therapy:
Integrated flow management and oxygen distribution streamlines measurement and allows for simultaneous control of multiple patient outlets, with a total flow rate up to 20 LPM.
User-Friendly Interface:
Easy-to-read display provides critical information at a glance, including oxygen purity and output flow.
Works Amidst Power Outages:
Integrated battery backup provides at least 30 minutes of runtime to cover short power outages without interrupting therapy. Standard high-pressure cylinders can also be used in the event of longer outages, with up to 6 hours of battery-enabled monitoring on the K-O2’s interface. Users have the option to choose their preferred primary backup source. In case of power outages, the K-O2 automatically switches between primary and secondary backups, and connection to the power-grid, should it be available.
Designed to Last:
Built specifically to work in harsh environments with high heat, humidity, dust, and unstable power, the K-O2 is designed with protection against natural elements that lead to malfunctions in conventional oxygen concentrators. It is easily repairable and serviceable. Gradian Health Systems provides clinical training and knowledge, as well as dedicated service and call center support. Additionally, the K-O2 was designed to be compatible with standard oxygen therapy accessories, including bubble humidifiers, cannulas, and other patient interfaces.
Gradian Health Systems and 10XBETA have been designing solutions in partnership with healthcare providers for over two decades. Both organizations have long histories of designing for the user, with the user. Several iterations of the K-O2 have been tested at Gradian’s hubs in Kenya and Uganda, where clinical trials are currently underway.
