Kovalska Industrial-Construction Group, founded in 1956, is the leading building materials manufacturer and property developer in Ukraine. It is recognized globally as the reliable construction partner with over sixty years of experience, in-house facilities, innovative and smart production, ethical approach to development, and significant architectural projects: modernization of the Vernadskyy Research Base in Antarctica, invention of unique concrete for the nuclear fuel storage facility in Chornobyl Exclusion Zone just to name a few. Kovalska also plays an impactful role in the reconstruction of residential buildings and revitalization of damaged industrial complexes.
Kovalska is about development that has become a tradition. That is why a growing repetitive rhythm with a hidden letter K has become its brand symbol. The bold sign is an allusion to modernistic industrial symbols popular in the 1950s-1960s: the first years of Kovalska being active. The hidden rhythm is always present across all brand materials as a seamless grid, either a typographic logo or a huge billboard.
The grid is not only a meaningful artistic tool but also a helpful medium that pulls identity together, which is always quite a challenge for big corporations with multiple sub-brands. Therefore, Spiilka design buro created a bold, cohesive, yet scalable and accessible Identity for the brand that is the benchmark of the Ukrainian industrial market.
