The design of the WFL M20 was developed by DesignTech. The goal of the designers was to give these performance features, which are unique in the industry, visible shape for users and decision makers. One aspect of this is the compact and monolithic design of the machine, thanks to which it forms an integrated whole – a design approach that visualizes the fact that WFL Millturn Technologies creates user-friendly machines and believes in forward-looking technologies like Smart Machining.
But not only its compact, wholistic design makes this a thoroughly modern machine, but also the materials used. The entire facing of the front of the machine is made of hardened glass – a powerful design statement in an environment that is still quite conservative.
And since the glass facing also gives an excellent view of the working area so that everybody can see which task is being performed right now, the design also emphasizes the functionality and versatility of the machine.
Usability was optimized by the industrial designers by bringing out the essential functions of the machine. All relevant information on processes being performed can be read off at a glance from the front of the machine, even if one does not stand directly at the controls. This makes for error-free, concentrated, focused work.
Usability is also enhanced by ergonomic details of the handles and of the integrated operating buttons of the tool change magazine. They are just as innovative in the industry as the easy access to the working area that considerably simplifies loading and unloading as well as maintenance and repair. This means that the M20 MILLTURN offers not only optimum workplace and process safety, but also a very attractive place of work.
In addition to enhancing the emotional appeal and visualizing the functions and special features of the WFL M20, DesignTech has also managed to interpret the corporate design elements in such a way that the brand WFL becomes visible at one glance.
