The new PERLE collection, which will be previewed at Salone del Mobile 2023, is the perfect synthesis of this unique and personalized approach to the world of wellness. Right from its name, PERLE encapsulates the meanings and characteristics of jewelry, which par excellence represents elegance and refinement. Just as the pearl is the most perfect and rare shape in nature, the sphere that punctuates each element of the collection is an emblem of purity and the fruit of profound research. The same research has led Gessi, through more than two years of studies, to explore the best Made in Italy materials to enhance them in its creations, with the aim of increasingly personalizing and customizing the most important element of the most intimate space of living. And, to exalt these fine materials, it could only be the perfect shape of the pearl: the sphere has conditioned the birth of this new collection that, inspired by the worn jewel pearls, charming and soft, wants to transfer the same tactile and aesthetic pleasure in everyday life, to an ergonomic and functional use.

The “Haute Culture GESSI” approach has led the company’s in-house designers to confront architecture, art, fashion, and craftsmanship in this exercise of utmost experimentation, translating Italian know-how into a new cultural approach that transmits into the future the high skills that are otherwise in danger of being lost: from the timeless craftsmanship of Murano glass to the manual working of marble, from synthetic materials taken from bijoux and fashion accessories to semi-precious stones, and to the metals proper to the manufacturing industry.

The spheres, always different, are enhanced by a real pedestal, also perfectly shaped, inspired by different currents of Italian design: a sculptural form that interacts with the pearl in a game of sections and spherical and hemispherical elements combined with each other in a harmony and balance almost indescribable if not seen and touched in person. Because GESSI in its experimentation always puts the person at the center.

The creations of the PERLE collection allow, through endless combinations of unique shapes, colors and finishes, to interpret the personality of the person who inhabits the space at the best, in a path of true tailoring in order to achieve a result that gives well-being to the individual, a tailor-made well-being. The PERLE collection, perfect when you want to personalize the most intimate living environment with details of absolute elegance, is dedicated to people who don’t leave anything to chance.

For the “pedestals,” in addition to the version of the mixer available in three heights, the collection includes a further elaboration of the theme with the three-hole unit, which embellishes the washbasin with a composition that arises from a different overlapping of the solid shapes. Here the sphere is combined with the cone in one of the two controls, while in the other it is divided by overlapping the two halves. The same play is also found in the two-hole wall-mounted mixer.

GESSI, in its constant search for innovation and possible combinations, has created multiple possible combinations of colors, materials, and a series of new unprecedented finishes, in polished, matte, and brushed versions.

Five materic worlds for the PERLE:
METAL PERLE:
All the experience in metalworking that distinguishes GESSI is transferred to this element with a pure shape, made in all surfaces: shiny, brushed, or solid color, both glossy and matt. Twelve new finishes are added to all those in the GESSI catalog, for a total of twenty-six proposals. The overlapping of the elements plays with the effects of tone-on-tone surface workings – all glossy, all brushed, or matte – or with light play effects thanks to the contrast glossy/matte/brushed.

MURANO PERLE:
The culture of Made in Italy savoir-faire, like the centuries-old culture of Murano’s master glassmakers, handed down from generation to generation, is expressed in the pure form of the pearl. In the glass beads, the most representative techniques of the history of craftsmanship peculiar to the island in the Venetian lagoon are reworked, reinterpreting them in a contemporary key. Such as, for example, the technique of “sommerso,” which allows for a spot of color almost suspended inside the glass, or that of “pulegoso,” in which microbubbles and infiltrations are incorporated into the volume, up to-surface processing such as “battuto” or “molatura,” declined in multiple transparencies and shades. Worked entirely by hand by master glassmakers, the spheres are unique pieces, true works of art that are the result of unprecedented and exclusive solutions.

SEMI-PRECIOUS PERLE:
For the creation of this material world, very precious Marbles such as Nero Portoro, Forest Brown, or even Emperador Dark and rare, precious, and even more difficult to work Onyxes such as the very pure White Onyx or Iranian Green Onyx have been selected. The precious raw material is worked with a special “tailoring” method, unique in the world and belonging exclusively to Italy, the result of unprecedented experiments that reveal the craftsmanship of shaping the hardness of marble to achieve spectacular effects. The word marble comes from the ancient Greek μαρμαίρω (marmàirō), meaning “to shine, to spark.” The final effect, in combination with metal, arises emotions and tactile sensations and an effect in the bathroom of absolute theatricality. Semi-precious pearls are one of the best emblems of GESSI’s unique approach to each of its creations.

PERLE IN ESSENCE:
Wood, thanks to its grain, chosen to achieve special decorative effects, brings nature more than any other material to the interior of rooms. Valuable and carefully selected essences, such as Rosewood, with its deep red notes, or the elegant and timeless Wengè, are enhanced through careful craftsmanship. Surface treatments make the spheres suitable for use in contact with water.
