The new Plissé collection by Vistosi features the graceful and harmonious lines of a jellyfish, with its iconic umbrella shape that seems almost intent on protecting and safeguarding the space it illuminates.
The term “medusa” indeed comes from the ancient Greek “μέδουσα,” meaning protector or guardian. According to Greek mythology, Medusa, even after being beheaded, never lost her ability to petrify with a single glance.
Like the mythical creature, Plissé captures the attention of anyone who stops to observe it and enchants with its rounded silhouette: a closed circle, whose circularity conveys a sense of a completed and unique project, thanks to the overlapping of different materials—glass, fabric, and metal.
The generously sized blown glass diffuser hides an inner fabric lampshade and creates a play of transparencies, colors, and textures that make Plissé an elegant element, capable of characterizing and adding a touch of personality to the environment it inhabits.
Plissé is available as a suspension lamp, with the diffuser in dark amber, smoky, burnt earth, old green, or crystal. The metal frame is finished in matt steel or matt bronze. LED light source.
