Recoup Heatdeck is a pioneering tray with an integrated wastewater heat recovery system (WWHR), suitable for new house build, bathroom upgrades or retrofit. The integral horizontal heat exchanger can reduce the energy required per shower use by up to 43%, reduce users’ energy bills and support the decarbonisation of UK homes. Heatdeck comes in 800mm x 800mm or 1200mm x 800mm with accessibility from above for complete peace of mind with no planned maintenance required. The tray has been designed to optimise efficiency through the management of the flow of water over the heat exchanger, partnering thermostatic electric or mixer showers.
While showering represents around 50 to 75% of household hot water use, around 85% to 90% of the heat energy in shower water ends up going down the drain. Research from the Energy Saving Trust reveals that heating water at home makes up about 5% of the UK’s carbon emissions. It’s never been more important to identify a way of reusing that lost heat to save energy and reduce energy bills for end users to support the decarbonisation of UK homes. Heatdeck has been designed to provide cost-saving benefits for all housing types in the UK.
Recoup Heatdeck is designed with a minimalist aesthetic, and crisp and refined details to communicate quality and precision for contemporary bathrooms. The tray has been manufactured to the limits of the processes involved to guarantee the repetition of the detailing and signature elements across all sizes and shapes to create a consistent family.
WWHR is a heat recovery technology that recovers the heat energy from waste shower water. It uses preheated mains cold water and sends the preheated water to the shower or water heater. The design has been optimised to manage the water flow over the heat exchanger and capture as much hair as possible to offset the need for continual cleaning.
WWHR is a cost-effective compliance measure for housebuilders and developers looking to meet or exceed new UK Part-L building regulations for energy efficiency. The high efficiency of Recoup products produces more Standard Assessment Procedure points (UK Gov. method for calculating energy performance of dwellings), and therefore better value for new-build developers, the homeowner, and the environment. Cost-effective, easy to install, with no planned maintenance, no end-user interaction and no change of use.
Heatdeck provides up to 43% heat recovery efficiency which would otherwise have been lost, hence energy consumption reduction for every shower. Heatdeck is another component in the drive for decarbonisation of UK homes. The sheet material for vacuum forming the rear of both tray and plinth is reground ABS.
