DAL-e is a service robot that helps visitors and employees at car brand experience centers and dealerships. The name DAL-e sounds like the Korean word for “bridge”, da-li, to emphasize its role in bridging visitors and employees together.
DAL-e features advanced robotic technologies such as omnidirectional movement, autonomous driving, computer vision, and a dialogue system.
DAL-e performs a wide variety of tasks, including welcoming visitors, providing information on vehicles and the facilities, escorting visitors to their desired destinations, delivering car keys to customers, simple cleaning of dealerships, and sometimes providing entertainment through taking pictures and dancing.
DAL-e refers visitors to employees for more specialized assistance.
This service provides a more comfortable and beneficial experience for visitors who do not prefer face-to-face contact with staff. Employees are relieved from the burden of repetitive tasks, which improves the overall quality of service.
DAL-e is designed to be more than just a digitized product, such as a moving information kiosk. DAL-e, with its adorable appearance, voice (TTS) and tone of speech resembling that of a 10-year-old-child, is designed to provide a warm and friendly “presence” that feels approachable for both visitors and employees.
It can also communicate more naturally with customers and employees through a variety of interaction elements such as neck gestures, arm gestures, face tracking, and facial expressions.
