The NexGen™ Writer from Stenograph, created in close collaboration with Cruver Design, represents a bold leap forward in the evolution of court reporting. Designed to meet the uncompromising demands of professional court reporters, NexGen introduces a new standard in both performance and comfort. At its core is an all-new writing mechanism that delivers Stenograph’s shortest stroke and softest touch ever—up to 60% shorter (stroke) and 40% lighter (stroke) than prior models—significantly reducing fatigue and enhancing precision over long sessions.
The system also offers 13 stroke depth and 19 tension settings, allowing users to customise the feel and resistance of the keys with remarkable granularity. A key ergonomic innovation includes the relocation of selector knob graphics from the side to the top of each dial, positioning settings directly in the user’s line of sight for maximum visibility—eliminating the need to twist the machine or contort the body while adjusting.
The NexGen also features a 180° pivoting 8-inch LCD screen, designed to adapt to the wide variety of use cases among court reporters. It can be tilted to an ideal viewing angle when visual feedback is needed, folded flat and tucked away under a table when used on the reporter’s lap, or closed completely for safe transport. This flexibility supports both ergonomic comfort and streamlined workflows during live proceedings.
Smaller than its predecessor, the NexGen was deliberately designed to emphasise its reduced size and portability, giving it a compact, sculpted form that visually reinforces its lightweight, travel-ready nature. At the same time, it retains robust performance features, including dual wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), StenographLink™ remote support and OTA updates, and triple steno plus dual audio backup systems for mission-critical reliability.
With over 12 hours of battery life, a sleek aesthetic in multiple colour options, and enhanced physical durability, the NexGen is not just a tool—it’s a future-focused, ergonomic, and intelligent companion for the modern court reporter.
