In order to deliver a sincere message of sustainability, we wanted to exclude unnecessary things and leave only the essentials. We focused on designing a structure that could protect the product in any delivery environment without using plastic cushioning materials or styrofoam.
In order to convey Hyundai’s sincere message of sustainability, we wanted to exclude unnecessary things and leave only the essentials. We minimized all elements including the package structure, graphic system and components that will be printed and focused on structural design so that this package, made entirely of recycled paper, can protect the product in any delivery environment without the need for additional materials.
The creators believe that this simplicity can deliver a clearer, more luxurious experience.
Sustainable Paper Package Series are designed to be folded and assembled using only paper without adhesives, so you can easily participate in recycling just by unfolding the package. Hyundai seeks to communicate with customers as a comfortable brand through simple, understated visual graphic rules and warm-colored recycled paper that expresses our brand colors. We aim to convey the value of focusing on the essential experience through meticulous details that open and close smoothly and tightly using only the structure of the package itself.
This new packaging system, in which the paper box structure interlocks and acts as a mutual shock absorber, perfectly protects fragile and delicate car diecasts or miniatures without the need for harmful plastic materials or even paper sleeves. Because we also considered the environmental and cost impacts of transportation, we were able to minimize the shape of the box by inserting only essential internal structures.
A most basic consideration was it’s materials. Kendo paper was used for message cards, and Mag, an eco-friendly paper containing more than 50% recycled magazine pulp, was used for packages and paper bags. Furthermore, MIPAN regen, a 100% recycled nylon yarn was used for the handle strap of the paper bag and package box.
