With the exploding popularity of robotic vacuum cleaners, startup Tailos saw an opportunity to bring this category into the hospitality space. This is because unlike homes, hotels and similar spaces require much faster and deeper cleaning than residential robot vacuums are capable of. They began developing Rosie, an automated cleaning robot tailor-made for the hospitality industry.
After creating and testing functional prototypes, Tailos enlisted the design team to create a refined design that was ready for mass production. Through ambitious deadlines and complex technical requirements, the designers worked to deliver a cohesive, pleasing, and tooling-ready design.
Rosie features much more powerful suction than other small robotic vacuums, allowing it to complete a room quickly. It is further enabled by omni wheels, which it can use to move in any direction to minimize travel time. Its low profile allows it to slip easily under furniture for thorough cleaning. Rosie’s soft rubber bumpers protect premium hotel furnishings from being scuffed and marred.
Loaded with sensors, it can quickly navigate through new and changing environments, cleaning more than 1,000 square feet per hour with continuous all-day operation, becoming a trusted tool for hospitality professionals.
