Lecoc Arquitectura is an international architecture studio based in Valencia, Spain. The architecture and design studio works on both public and private projects, with a keen interest in the fields of health and housing buildings. Our architecture is at the service of people, and our efforts are focused on combining ecological, economic, and social sustainability. The spaces we design are capable of generating atmospheres that appeal to the senses, creating areas where one can breathe essence, order, proportion, and serenity.
The project consists of the construction of 7 semi-detached single-family houses. The project seeks an essential architecture, based on a way of living focused on the exterior, where all rooms are equipped with natural lighting and ventilation. We propose an essential approach in the project, an honest and essential architecture, understandable, but at the same time daring, because it does not play with ornaments or superfluous elements, but presents its work in its essence, naked, being exposed.
Within an environment where the single-family house is the one that governs the urban landscape, the project is thought of in a unitary way, generating a single piece that houses the 7 projected units. The 7 dwellings are designed as a single building, where the limits between them are not distinguished, but rather an image of unity and unification.
The design of the dwellings has been treated as a single architectural ensemble. The whole is more important than the parts. We wanted to promote this idea of the whole, not individualized repetition of the same house, but to design a single building in which the houses enjoy absolute independence, but in its architectural language are part of a single project, of a whole, which only makes sense when understood as a whole.
The houses are designed to enjoy an open and fluid space, where interior and exterior spaces follow each other and allow for long views through the private space. The terraces, the patio characteristic of Mediterranean architecture and the spacious garden, are elements that are part of the house, habitable spaces, in which air and light are where air and light acquire a greater prominence and become part of everyday life. Is designed in such a way that the space is used to the maximum, achieved through a clear and precise order, which bets on a place to live where the line between indoors and outdoors is diluted.
