The design process focused on two primary goals: optimizing user experience during installation and cable access, and aligning the form with the Think brand identity.
Extensive prototyping ensured excellent tactility for closing and opening the cable door, crucial for quick cable repairs in tight spaces. Cable management innovations included securing in-device cables with zip ties and mounting the power supply on the VESA bracket for streamlined cable organization. The product’s form embraces a disciplined, minimal aesthetic, prioritizing function-driven detailing.
A new treatment of the ThinkSmart logo was developed to integrate a rubber logo into the mesh surface, maintaining letter details while achieving optimal tactility. Additionally, the adoption of the updated Lenovo logo unifies the product with the broader Lenovo family, fostering brand cohesion across product lines.
The ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 is designed to fit various sizes and can be mounted in multiple orientations. With up to 13 cables connected, efficient cabling is essential for a premium user experience. It features an innovative zip tie cable clip system that tightens and secures cables without damaging them, while balancing engineering excellence and clean aesthetics. In extremely limited spaces, the cable box can be omitted, the modular design provides maximum flexibility.
