The Verizon Internet Gateway is the latest flagship device for Verizon’s 5G Home Internet service, delivering fast and reliable home Wi-Fi in minutes, through an intuitive plug-and-play experience. Each detail of the design optimizes customer experience, performance, sustainability, and affordability, all within a precise new form language.
Impressive technology packed in a simple, intuitive package unlocks high-speed internet for more communities than ever before. Though it leverages Verizon’s extensive 5G network and is the first device of its kind with Wi-Fi 6E and Tri-Band technology, setup takes just 15 minutes and a single power cable.
Being a 5G device that needs to live out in the open, its proportion and size were balanced to maximize technical performance while also feeling appropriate as a free-standing object in the home.
The linear form makes the most of internal space while complementing the visual lines of home architecture and furniture. The venting breaks up the monolithic form with visual richness, and provides efficient yet discrete thermal management. Cable management is consolidated to the bottom of the device to minimize clutter in the home.
On the front of the Internet Gateway, glow-through LED icons show only the information customers need when they need it, helping them to focus on key information, and allowing the device to blend into the home during regular use. These innovative icons were carefully designed to guide customers through an intuitive self-setup process and provide concise contextual information throughout daily use.
Beyond its technical improvements and unique aesthetic, this device also represents a major step forward in sustainability for Verizon, with more post-consumer recycled content and a significantly improved refurbishment and reuse program. This is Verizon’s first connectivity device truly optimized for efficient, reliable refurbishment.
Parts can now be serviced or swapped in a fraction of the time, allowing our devices to stay in service much longer than would otherwise be possible. This consideration in the design keeps supply chain and refurbishment costs as low as possible, allowing Verizon to leverage fewer devices to support their customers over time.
