VitrA acts for a healthier future.
*The entire basin is produced from nearly 100% recycled waste materials that are generated and disposed of during the CSW manufacturing process.
The new VitrA’s recycled washbasin is the world’s first 100% recycled ceramic basin of its kind. VitrA
believes that this pioneering innovation will set a new standard in sustainable design within the industry.
It exclusively utilizes broken and discarded ceramics, along with other waste materials from the
manufacturing process that would typically end up in landfills.
By choosing to reclaim materials that would otherwise have been discarded, VitrA are actively reducing its environmental footprint. The basin embodies the principles of a circular economy, where waste becomes a valuable resource. It is a result of VitrA’s commitment to using less resources, minimizing waste and maximizing our contribution to the circular economy.
VitrA Outline Recycled is produced with nearly 100%* waste recycling and can be fully always recycled. The taupe colour and mildly textured finish increase the visual and tactile impact of recycled material, highlighting the product’s uniqueness.
Within the scope of the project, a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study was carried out in accordance with ISO 14040:2006 and 14044:2006 standards by VitrA Innovation Center.
The LCA study compares the current state (1) and the new state (2):
(1) All products are produced with current recipe;
(2) 1 in 4 CSW products are produced in recycled form. According to the results of the LCA study, the environmental impacts of the new situation show significant improvements compared to the current situation:
The global warming potential of the new situation has decreased by 32% compared to the current situation.
The abiotic depletion (fossil fuels) potential of the new situation is reduced by 30% compared to the current situation.
The ozone layer depletion potential of the new situation has decreased by 16% compared to the current situation.
The human toxicity potential of the new situation is reduced by 27% compared to the current situation.
The packaging design has also been driven by sustainability: product packaging is %100 recycled box and FSC-certified.
Note: It is a patented technology. There are two separate patent applications for the product (Türkiye and PCT).
