Wrong Way sensor (wws) The Wrong Way sensor is an ultrasonic sensor for logistics. Beside its distance detecting sensor, a horn and a flash light are integrated.
Why? In modern high bay warehouses it is crucial to stick to the driving direction to avoid collisons of the forklifts. This is where the wws comes in. In case a forklift driver is about to enter the corridor from the wrong side, he receives an instant warning by the sensor.
The shape follows these functional elements, enhancing the high precision ultrasonic sensor. This sensor is niche product and it is produced by injection moulding, but in an alumium tool to reduce tooling costs.
In order to reduce the tool wearing of too rapidly, the housing shows strongly tapered sidewalls; this large draft angle makes demolding easier and tool wearing is reduced. In a way, this detail gives this sensor a unique and friendly appearence.
The blue housing follows the corporate colour scheme of ultrasonic. And the product is fully recycable.
