Riketta is the new hanging lamp designed by Oriano Favaretto for Vistosi, a true “contemporary sculptural object.” Riketta is reminiscent of an egg, an age-old shape that has earned a prominent place in art history over the centuries as a symbol of perfection.
The designer was inspired by this classic art form, giving it a modern connotation through the use of two different and complementary materials: white opaline glass at the base and 2.7 mm diameter metal rods welded together at the top to form the iconic egg shape. It is precisely these slightly curved lines, the collection’s distinguishing feature, that inspired the name Riketta.
Oriano Favaretto has reimagined the classic egg shape by also producing two different forms, one flatter and one more elongated, to allow for varied combinations. The lamp, currently only available in the pendant version, can be used individually, in pairs, or in groups.
By playing with the shapes and heights of the suspensions, it is possible to create a new, surprising light effect each time, thanks to the LED light source (19 kW) that is hidden in the white glass diffuser.
For the future, Vistosi and the designer do not exclude new iterations of Riketta, which could be transformed into a table or floor lamp, thanks to its unique shape and contemporary style, capable of filling space and fitting well into different furnishing contexts.
