DOC is a community of scientists, investors, and business leaders dedicated to advancing the field of medicine on both personal and societal levels. Built on rigorous science, authentic collaboration, and trusted relationships, DOC fosters meaningful dialogue and redefines how knowledge drives human well-being. Its mission is to accelerate advancements in the health ecosystem by connecting individuals and ideas that catalyse real-world impact.
The inaugural event in Napa Valley (Fall 2024) served as a launch platform for this vision, bringing together leaders in business, technology, and finance with DOC Faculty, who include some of the most respected and accomplished doctors and scientists in the world. This unique convergence fostered a collaborative environment where participants engaged directly with leading experts to advance innovations in health and wellness.
Level was commissioned to develop a comprehensive brand identity and design system for DOC. The goal: to translate its values of clarity, credibility, exclusivity, and human-centred care across digital, print, and spatial expressions.
Working closely with DOC’s founding team, Level developed a design strategy that translated the brand’s mission, grounded in scientific rigour, trusted relationships, and meaningful exchange, into a cohesive visual system. The logomark is inspired by the helix, symbolising life and growth, and emphasising connection across people, disciplines, and ideas, while avoiding literal or clinical references. It supports a broader interpretation that reflects DOC’s evolving purpose.
The identity system pairs the logomark with a clean typographic structure, restrained colour palette, and modular grid designed to scale seamlessly across digital and physical applications—from presentation decks to signage to digital templates. Every element is intentionally designed to feel rigorous yet warm, exclusive yet open to dialogue.
This included the design and development of doc.health, DOC’s public-facing website, along with complementary digital platforms for its annual events, each extending the brand’s structure and tone into a flexible, content-rich format. For the inaugural Napa Valley event, Level extended the brand into the built environment through large-scale environmental graphics, including scenic design, way finding, and spatial elements.
One notable example was the Living Room Lab, a curated space where participants engaged with emerging health technologies and longevity assessments, making science both tangible and personal.
The brand system successfully reflects DOC’s mission by balancing clarity and exclusivity with adaptability and warmth. It established a consistent presence across digital, print, and spatial expressions, supporting DOC’s goal of providing unparalleled access to leaders in science, medicine, and health. The identity positioned DOC as a credible, future-facing brand and created a unified experience that emphasised clarity, credibility, and momentum throughout the event environment.
It continues to scale alongside DOC’s broader platform, including an expanding digital presence at doc.health that extends the brand’s voice and thought leadership beyond the event. The inaugural gathering brought together 200 scientists, physicians, biotech founders, investors, and thought leaders by invitation only at The Estate Yountville in Napa Valley. Attendee feedback was resoundingly positive: 100% expressed interest in returning, and DOC received a net promoter score in the top percentile nationally.
Post-event, new working groups emerged around topics including Women’s Health, Payment Reform, and Science Communication. The 2024 program also surfaced critical themes that now shape DOC’s 2025 agenda. Participants engaged deeply with topics such as AI’s role in healthcare, longevity science, and the underrepresentation of women in clinical research, a focus that inspired one of the post-event working groups.
As one participant noted, “Science is changing at a nearly incomprehensible speed… we’re at a tipping point where a small group of committed leaders can affect significant change.” DOC’s upcoming program for 2025 will centre on these three areas: AI, Longevity, and Women’s Health. The impact extended beyond the event itself. More than half a million dollars was pledged during the event in support of a philanthropic partner focused on food systems and health equity.
Relationships forged at the event led to new research funding, charitable donations, and early-stage collaborations between participants and faculty. These outcomes reflect DOC’s ability to foster meaningful relationships and accelerate real-world impact in healthcare.
