Honeywell Forge for Business Aviation (BA Forge) is a crucial tool for business aviation as it enhances operational efficiency, safety, and customer experience. By integrating advanced data analytics and real-time monitoring, BA Forge optimises flight operations, reduces costs, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards driving business growth.
BA Forge allows our users to get all the basic information they need about their aircrafts in their pocket. They can track how their flights are doing, the routes they’re taking, if they already landed or are airborne, any deviation in terms of the optimal route and how their online connectivity status is doing. Having everything available at once and being instantly notified about any incidents helps our users be aware of their business without any worries or concerns.
Early testing and interviews revealed that, when designing and developing the first iterations of this application, the UI overwhelmed users by displaying too much information simultaneously, such as all fleet aircraft on a map with widgets, making it hard to track specific aircraft.
BA Forge for mobile then focused on showing one aircraft at a time with route previews and filters for flight phases as well as prioritising to showcase key connectivity data, speeding up load times, reducing development time by 75% and saving up to $66,300 monthly in server costs.
This application was designed to allow our users to get all the basic information about their aircraft in their pockets without having to rely on different systems on various platforms and having to navigate between all of them one at a time. Having everything in one app allowed our users to avoid any distractions as well as constantly reaching out to them for their feedback helped out software to develop and grow even more to meet their demands and expectations.
