Mono-materialization of GL BARRIER
Issues with Multi-materials: Multi-materials enable high-functional packaging with various physical properties but are difficult to separate and recycle.
Reason for Mono-materialization: Developing mono-materials that can achieve the same performance as multi-materials would make recycling possible and contribute to the reduction of plastic waste. More information can be found at Mono-material Flexible Packaging.
Technology (Originality/Ingenuity)
Toppan has achieved both high-functional packaging and mono-materialization, previously considered difficult, by applying their extensive know-how. Over the past two years, Toppan has acquired 21 patents related to mono-materials.
Contribution to Sustainability
