SURGITENT is a sterile surgical isolation system based on the glove box principle. It creates a sealed operating room with HEPA-filtered air directly at the patient’s surgical incision. This provides the flexibility to perform procedures in hospitals, practices, or regions with limited infrastructure, such as disaster areas. The system replaces the sterile core area of a traditional operating room and also reduces the risk of infection for medical staff.
It is even a big step towards sustainability as it eliminates the need for large quantities of drapes, gowns and cleaning agents – all contamination remains in the tent. The SURGITENT Extremity version is optimised for hand and foot procedures, such as the treatment of fractures with implants. Such procedures can be performed directly in the office or outpatient clinic without long transport routes or waiting times. The patented frame structure is inflated with a foot pump. It creates space and provides stability. SURGITENT requires no additional power source for use.
