Located in Quito, Ecuador, Kia E-Ground is the first Electric Vehicle Experience Center in Latin America. More than a showroom, it embodies Kia’s global vision for sustainable mobility through design, innovation, and education.
At its core is the Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical pattern found in nature. This motif informs the layout, guiding visitors through three immersive zones—Planet, Energy, and Mobility—that reflect Kia’s sustainability principles. At 1,400 m², Kia E-Ground is a physical expression of the brand’s philosophy: “Opposites United”—where nature and technology coexist. A white sculptural tree with circular LED lights serves as a symbolic centrepiece.
Every element serves dual roles—aesthetic and ecological. Materials like Eco Bricks (25% less CO₂) and ECOPact concrete (up to 50% less CO₂) demonstrate Kia’s sustainable approach. Pavegen kinetic tiles generate clean energy from footsteps, while LED lighting, solar panels, and a rainwater system reduce the building’s environmental footprint.
“A Journey Through Sustainability” offers visitors an immersive and interactive experience across three zones. In the Planet Zone, virtual reality is used to raise environmental awareness and encourage more sustainable habits. The Energy Zone showcases electric vehicle and energy technologies, demonstrating their role in improving efficiency and lowering carbon footprints. Finally, the Mobility Zone highlights Kia’s electric and Purpose-Built Vehicles (PBVs), presenting a vision of clean, intelligent transportation in action.
These experiences make sustainability personal and tangible, empowering visitors to understand their role in creating a greener world.
Kia E-Ground is a strategic milestone for Kia’s transition into a sustainable mobility provider in Latin America. It strengthens brand leadership by turning innovation into real-world experience. Visitors engage with Kia’s latest technologies, including Pupose Built Vehicles designed for new lifestyles and services (e.g., ambulances or autonomous shuttles). This hands-on approach fosters trust, and even brand consideration.
Located near major universities like Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, Kia E-Ground integrates into Quito’s academic vibe. Once an underused space, it now thrives as a hub of learning and innovation. Students access real-world applications of clean energy and mobility through interactive exhibits and workshops, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
With over 35,000 alumni in the area, Kia E-Ground becomes more than a showroom—it’s a platform for nurturing the next generation of sustainability leaders in Latin America.
The centre’s design aligns with purpose. Recycled metals, LED lighting, photovoltaic panels, and water reuse systems all contribute to energy and material efficiency. The Fibonacci-inspired layout ensures intuitive flow and engagement. This fusion of design, education, and environmental stewardship sets a new benchmark for sustainable brand environments.
Kia invested USD $5,000,000 in the project, incorporating sustainable materials and smart systems throughout. Key features include Pavegen smart tile flooring, black and white eco bricks, recycled metal ceiling structures, ECOPact concrete, LED lighting, a solar panel system, and rainwater collection and reuse technology. The building spans a frontage of 33.40 meters and a depth of 38.40 meters.
