Offecct Circulus is a modular sofa system designed to adapt to various public and office environments. It offers extensive customization options, from a wide range of configurations to a selection of CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) choices, allowing specifiers to tailor the system to their specific needs. This versatility, combined with its durable construction, makes Circulus ideal for contract environments while also enabling easy disassembly and recycling of its component parts.
At the core of the system is a smart skeletal metal structure composed of modular components that can be expanded to virtually any length. This structure consists of a foundational carriage frame and legs made of steel (containing 20% recycled content). The perforated seat and backrest are made of aluminum (also with 20% recycled content) and are securely attached to the base frame. Additional structural elements, such as the reinforcing J-bar and backrest brackets, are made of die-cast aluminum with 98% recycled content. The system offers a choice between mid-back and high-back perforated steel backrests or a bench option, combined together it doesnt just offer single-direction configurations but can enable alternating face-to-face seating arrangements between the modules when linked together, allowing thus for diverse spatial configurations.
Enhancing this robust and adaptable framework is an innovative upholstery attachment method that requires no special tools, glue, or staples. The upholstery, featuring a sewn-in list, snaps onto the perforated aluminum sheets of the seat and backrest. This approach not only expands design possibilities with varied color combinations but also ensures easy removal and replacement of upholstery in case of wear or damage.
By integrating these considered elements, Offecct Circulus achieves a balance of comfort, sustainability, and functionality. The system’s perceived volume conveys a sense of comfort while simultaneously reducing foam usage through its intelligent upholstery method. Guided by circular design principles, it ensures a durable structure that can be easily reupholstered, repaired, and disassembled into its material components for efficient recycling.
