Sometimes small changes make a big difference. The Sol-Can canister offers a range of features and design elements for easier and safer dialysis treatment, while reducing its required footprint and eliminating unnecessary packaging. The result is a more compact design with improved labelling of information. This simplifies the work for practice staff and contributes to a more sustainable dialysis process.
The new design ensures easy insertion of the suction rod and enables a residual volume of less than 50 ml to be achieved. The dome-shaped base allows up to 40 canisters to be stacked stably on a pallet. The ergonomic handle fits comfortably in any hand and allows carers to carry two canisters with one hand, as well as facilitating positioning under the machine. The new easy-to-open lid reduces the force required to open it by more than 30 %.
The improved label design is clearly laid out and enables quick and easy identification and logging of the relevant data. The new labelling material ensures better legibility. The completely transparent canister means that the fill level is always visible.
Thanks to the switch to PET, the canister is fully recyclable and helps prevent plastic from entering the environment. With 56 g less weight than its predecessor, this means more than 800 kg less plastic per year for an average dialysis centre. Thanks to improved production processes, the canister’s carbon footprint has been reduced by 17% compared to its predecessor.
The design is based on the B. Braun Corporate Product Design for all single use products.
